Who is Kitty (Caryl) Martinho?
Kitty is a registered
physiotherapist with the Ontario College of Physiotherapists and a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She is associated with Action Potential.
She completed her training
as a physiotherapist in Britain at the RJ and AH Orthopedic Hospital, Shropshire in 1982. She worked in Britain for two years
(at St. Richards, Chichester and Hammersmith Hospital, London) before moving to Canada in 1985.
She has worked in Canada
in Newfoundland, Chatham, Ontario and Ottawa. She has worked in the field of oncology and palliative care since 1997, as an
inpatient therapist on the oncology unit at the Ottawa Hospital and most recently on the palliative care unit at Elizabeth
Bruyere Health Centre.
She has experience in
all aspects of hospital work, as well as children’s rehabilitation.
Her experience is broad-based including orthopedic, surgical, medicine, out-patient therapy, neurology (pediatric), intensive
care and home care physiotherapy.
Her treatment philosophy
is eclectic, drawing on a number of hands-on interventions to provide individual programs of therapy tailored to meet the
needs of each client and their family.

physiotherapy to patients with cancer to help alleviate the symptoms, assist in their recovery and adjust to any physical
changes they may be experiencing.
